According to the mother, the incident occurred while she had sent her daughter out to sell pap. She said the suspect, who reportedly works as a commercial tricycle (keke) rider, approached the girl and told her he wanted to buy all the pap she was selling. He allegedly asked her to accompany him to deliver the pap to his home, claiming his wife had just given birth and needed to confirm that the okamu (pap) was suitable.
The mother alleged that after they arrived at the house, the suspect ordered the girl to lie down and threatened to kill her if she screamed. She said he then forcefully raped the teenager, leaving her with injuries that caused severe vaginal bleeding.
According to the mother, she became alarmed when she returned home and found her daughter bleeding. After questioning her, the girl allegedly narrated what had happened.
The family is now calling on the Ebonyi State Government and relevant security agencies to ensure a thorough investigation and that justice is served.
