Peter Obi Accepts NDC Presidential Ticket, Vows 10,000MW Power Boost and National Reforms
Presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Coalition (NDC), Peter Obi, has formally accepted his nomination and unveiled a broad reform agenda aimed at tackling insecurity, reviving the economy, and addressing the country's infrastructure challenges.

Speaking in Abuja on Saturday after emerging as the party’s flag bearer, Obi pledged to increase Nigeria’s electricity generation to 10,000 megawatts within four years if elected president.

In his acceptance speech, Obi thanked party leaders, delegates, supporters, and Nigerians for their confidence in his leadership.

“It is with deep humility that I accept the role of presidential candidate for our party. I express my profound gratitude to the leaders of our party, His Excellency Seriake Dickson, the National Chairman, National Secretary, members of the National Working Committee, our relentless supporters, and the Nigerian people who have kept the spirit of hope alive,” he said.

Obi described Nigeria as being at a critical juncture, plagued by insecurity, economic hardship, and declining public trust in government.

He said the challenges facing the nation had left many businesses struggling and communities in distress, while confidence in governance continued to erode. However, he maintained that Nigeria could still recover through effective and responsible leadership.

“Businesses are struggling, communities are suffering, and an alarming number of citizens have lost faith in the very concept of governance.

“Yet, I stand before you filled with optimism and strong faith in the resilience of our people, for I firmly believe that a New Nigeria is possible,” Obi stated.
