*The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has declared that Ebonyi State will deliver 95% of its votes to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the next general election, saying he would work closely with Governor Francis Nwifuru to mobilise overwhelming support for the President.
Umahi made the remark during an inspection of the Abaomoge/Akpoha/Afikpo road project in Ebonyi State. He praised Tinubu’s administration for what he described as unprecedented infrastructure development in the South-East and urged leaders in the region to back the President’s re-election.
According to him, Ebonyi State would intensify mobilisation efforts to appreciate Tinubu for the ongoing projects across the region.
“We cried about marginalisation in the past, but today, the South-East is no longer marginalised under President Tinubu,” Umahi said, calling on regional leaders to publicly acknowledge the President’s efforts.
He also highlighted the significance of the Ministry of Works being headed by an Igbo man, describing it as a major sign of trust and inclusion by the Tinubu administration.
“The President is strategically bringing the South-East into the mainstream of Nigerian politics, and we must be wise enough to recognise that,” he added.
Commending Tinubu’s performance, Umahi said no previous administration had matched the current level of development projects in the region.
“In Ebonyi State, working together with Governor Nwifuru, we will deliver 95% of our votes to Tinubu because we have every reason to support him. What happened in the last election was an accident of history and will not happen again,” he stated.
He concluded by calling for stronger political mobilisation ahead of the next general election.*
